"Puppies are cute, puppies are fun; but just remember that puppies aren't for everyone"

Puppies only look this way for 4-5 months of their long lives; so consider whether you are willing to do housebreaking, training, and spend the time with them that they need for socialization.  If not; consider an older dog from a breeder, or a rescue dog.  The breeders' dog has the advantage of most of the time already being housetrained, and is a high quality dog or the show breeder would not have been "growing them out" for the show ring.  They usually already have some form of training (leash broken) and their personalities are already developed.  While it's true that it may take several weeks for them to "settle in" to your home; it takes a pup much longer than that to be trained, so they are a good and safe bet for your home.
